Silvina Falcon-Levine, MSW, LCSW

I am a licensed clinical social worker (New Jersey License #44SC04613000, New York License #092214) and have been providing mental health services for over 25 years. I earned my master’s degree in social work from Rutgers University and completed my clinical internships at Trinitas Regional Medical Center and Bayonne Community Mental Health Center. In addition to private practice, I have held positions at hospitals and community centers providing metal health and case management services to individuals struggling with a wide variety of difficulties. I have extensive experience working with adults suffering debilitating struggles with anxiety, including panic disorder, generalized anxiety disorder, phobias, and social anxiety disorder. Treating obsessive-compulsive disorder and its related conditions has also been an important focus in my practice. In addition, I have developed strong therapeutic skills in treating depression, life transitions, and relationship difficulties, as well as parenting challenges.  Supporting clients working towards improvement in these areas have brought great fulfillment to my professional life.

Providing bilingual Spanish services to diverse populations and addressing multicultural variables in treatment has been helpful to many of my clients who have struggled in their acculturation process. It has also been useful for clients seeking to understand the challenges other diverse individuals face in their lives. This has been a good asset in my past work as a consultant to organizations providing bilingual parent training workshops to Spanish speaking populations.

In my practice, I use a goal-oriented and collaborative approach integrating cognitive-behavioral methods with other empirically sound strategies.  I strive to sustain unconditional positive regard for my clients while addressing their unique individual needs. In every therapeutic encounter I make dedicated efforts to maintain a supportive environment where clients feel heard and safe to explore their difficulties and learned strategies to regain freedom in their lives.

I earned and maintained a level 3 Certification on TEAM-Cognitive Behavioral Therapy through the Feeling Good Institute in California.  I am also trained in EMDR (levels I and II) through the EMDR Institute, Inc.  I am certified in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Insomnia (CBT-I). I continually consult with prominent experts in the field and enroll in trainings nationally and internationally to maintain proficiency in my therapeutic skills to treat OCD and related disorders to stay up to date with the newest developments in exposure response prevention (ERP) through the international OCD foundation, and Inference Cognitive Behavioral therapy for OCD treatment (ICBT).
